Societe Generale Survey: Fund Managers Turning Bearish on Emerging Markets (CNBC)

A survey of fund managers by Societe Generale has found that investors in emerging markets are turning more bearish. The bank’s monthly survey of real-money and hedge fund investors in emerging markets showed 49% are now bearish for the near term, up from 29% at the end of April. This is the first time the population of bearish investors outnumbered bullish ones since September. In addition, the percentage of investors who believe they are overinvested in emerging markets rose to 40%. However, medium-term sentiment remains “clearly bullish” with 54% being bullish on a three-month horizon.
