Investing in Malaysia ADRs / Malaysia Stocks List

Although there are four Malaysia ADRs trading on the NASDAQ, three are shell companies with the fourth, GreenPro Capital Group (NASDAQ: GRNQ), being a “new finance” company operating in areas such as corporate advisory, wealth management, incubation and fin-tech. In addition, there are a number of important Malaysia stocks with ADRs on the OTC market. However, many of these Malaysian ADRs are big diversified conglomerates that are controlled by local Chinese taipans, or they are government controlled and/or they have close ties to the political parties and elites who control Malaysia’s government. Finally, there are no Malaysia closed-end funds.

Note: Stocks delisted from the OTC (whether due to mergers, acquisitions or for other reasons) have been left in the table (as their websites still provide a good feel for the company and the local market) and may still trade on local or important European (e.g. London) or regional (e.g. Singapore or Hong Kong) stock exchanges. They may also be holdings of country or region specific ETFs or Indices.
