South Africa Sees Fresh Start for Economy, With the Same Challenges (NYT)
The A.N.C. is gaining a new opportunity after the resignation of President Jacob Zuma in the face of rampant accusations of corruption. Overall economic growth is slow. By the end of 2016, South Africa’s economy was still roughly the same size it was in 2009, according to the World Bank, which anticipates growth of about 1.1 percent this year.
