As a major global offshore financial center or tax haven, Cayman Islands ADRs generally have little to no business connection to the British Overseas Territory beyond having an incorporation or listing there. For example, Ambow Education Holding Ltd (OTCMKTS: AMBOY), Daqo New Energy Corp (NYSE: DQ) and JinkoSolar Holding Co. Ltd (NYSE: JKS) are actually Chinese companies and they may no longer be legally registered in the Cayman Islands. Most other Cayman Islands stocks are shell companies.
However, its worth noting that Consolidated Water Co. Ltd (NASDAQ: CWCO) offers investors good exposure to the territory and the Caribbean as the company operates desalination plants in the Cayman Islands, the Bahamas, and the United States.

Note: Some of the Cayman Islands ADRs or registered companies listed below may have already reincorporated in the USA or other jurisdictions.
