A list of Egypt ETFs consists of the Market Vectors Egypt Index ETF (NYSEARCA: EGPT) from Van Eck which tracks the MVIS Egypt Index (MVEGPT). This index tracks publicly listed stocks that are domiciled and primarily listed in Egypt or generate the majority of their revenues there.
Egypt is one of Africa’s largest economies and the most populous Arab county in the world. Its also worth noting that the two Egyptian stock exchanges were very active in the 1940s (when combined, they actually ranked fifth in the world). However, the Egypt stock market largely went dormant from the 1960s until the 1990s when the country adopted socialist central planning policies.
