A list of Middle East / Africa ETFs consists of the SPDR S&P Emerging Middle East & Africa ETF (NYSEARCA: GAF) from State Street SPDR tracking the S&P Mid-East and Africa BMI Index and (since Egypt is often considered to be part of the Middle East) the Market Vectors Egypt Index ETF (NYSEARCA: EGPT) from Van Eck tracking the Market Vectors Egypt Index.
The S&P Mid-East and Africa BMI Index is a regional sub-index of the S&P Global BMI and provides investors with exposure to Egypt, Morocco and South Africa stocks while the Market Vectors Egypt Index tracks publicly listed stocks that are domiciled and primarily listed in Egypt or generate the majority of their revenues in that country – one of Africa’s largest economies as well as the most populous Arab county in the world.
