Investing in Greece ADRs / Greek Stocks List
Most of the Greece ADRs or Greek stocks with listings on US exchanges are actually shipping stocks mainly with their headquarters in Greece, but most (if not all) of their business coming from overseas trading with the performance of these shipping stocks being more tied to the performance of the global economy and the Baltic Dry Index (BDI) than the economy of Greece. Meanwhile, Coca Cola HBC AG (OTCMKTS: CCHGY) may have its origins in the Hellenic Bottling Company S.A. and is the world’s second-largest Coca-Cola anchor bottler in terms of volume with operations in 28 countries in 3 continents, but now its headquarters are in Switzerland and its main overseas listing is on the London Stock Exchange rather than the NYSE. That leaves the National Bank of Greece SA (NYSE: NBG) which also owns Finansbank in Turkey and Vojvodjanska Banka in Serbia, as being the main Greece ADR for investors as some Greek ADRs listed on the OTC are not actively trading.
