There are two Turkish ADRs or stocks with NYSE or NASDAQ listings: NYSE listed Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS (NYSE: TKC) is the leading mobile phone operator of Turkey; and NASDAQ listed D-MARKET Elektronik Hizmetler ve Ticaret Anonim Sirketi (NASDAQ: HEPS) operates the following eCommerce platforms: Hepsiburada for purchasing a range of products online; HepsiExpress for ordering groceries and essentials; HepsiGlobal for purchasing products from international merchants online; HepsiPay to enable various online payment options; and HepsiFly for purchasing airline tickets online. Other important Turkish stocks have ADRs listed on the OTC.
Previously, there were two NYSE listed Turkey closed-end funds offering investors exposure to equity and/or bond markets in Turkey. The Central and Eastern Europe Fund, Inc (NYSE: CEE) was formerly known as the Central Europe Russia and Turkey Fund Inc (NYSE: CEE). In the past (e.g. 2014), it had a 15% allocation in Turkish stocks (as well as exposure to Russian stocks). However, it now appears the fund no longer invests in Turkish stocks (and is or already has eliminated exposure to Russian stocks).
In addition, the Turkish Investment Fund Inc (NYSE: TKF) was a long-standing Turkish closed-end fund managed by Morgan Stanley Investment Management. However, the fund liquidated in January 2018.
Finally, investors interested in investing in Turkey ADRs should check out our Turkey ETF list as well as our EMEA ETF list, Middle East/Africa ETF list, Middle East ETF list and Middle East ETF (Region Wide) list as some region wide ETFs may invest in Turkish stocks.
Note: Stocks delisted from the OTC (whether due to mergers, acquisitions or for other reasons) have been left in the table (as their websites still provide a good feel for the company and the local market) and may still trade on local or important European (e.g. London, Amsterdam etc) or Middle East (e.g. Dubai) stock exchanges. They may also be holdings of country or region specific ETFs or Indices.

The Borsa Istanbul (BIST)
The first Turkish stock market was established in the Ottoman Empire in 1866 under the name of “Dersaadet Securities Exchange.” Today’s Turkish stock exchange, the Borsa Istanbul (BIST), was created in 2013 to combine the Istanbul Stock Exchange (ISE), the Istanbul Gold Exchange and the Derivatives Exchange of Turkey under one umbrella.
