Investing in Chile ETFs / Chile ETF List
A list of Chile ETFs consists of the iShares MSCI Chile Index Fund (NYSEARCA: ECH) from iShares tracking the MSCI Chile IMI 25/50 Index – an index measuring the performance of large cap, mid cap and small cap Chilean stocks.
In addition, the Global X FTSE Andean 40 ETF (NYSEARCA: AND) from Global X tracked the FTSE Andean 40 Index covering the most liquid Chile, Colombia and Peru stocks (Note: No single country exceeded 50% of the total index). However, that fund was liquidated on October 6, 2017.
In general, foreign investors have a good selection of Chile stocks to invest in thanks to the country’s open and liberalized economy and relatively deep capital markets compared with other Latin America country. However, much of Chile’s export orientated economy would be indirectly impacted by copper and commodity prices as the country’s largest exports are oil, natural gas, chemicals, lithium, wood pulp and food while top trading partners include China, Brazil, Argentina, South Korea and the United States.
